Ravenna
Listed in the World Heritage List of UNESCO, Ravenna is a treasure of art, history and culture of the first magnitude. Between V and VIII century it was three times capital of the Roman Empire and the magnificence of that period has left significant witnesses to us. Ravenna is the city of mosaics: the art of mosaic has not originated here, but here has found its highest expression in a mix of symbolism and realism, of Roman and Byzantine influences and yet today this old discipline lives in schools and shops. The territory of Ravenna, although intensely man-made, has maintained wonderful natural environment, protected by several natural reserves in the regional park of the Mouth Po. Ravenna is a city on the sea: 9 seaside resorts in 35 kilometers of coastline offer a great variety of happenings and events . The landscape characterized by sandy beachs, pine forests and inland valleys, that struck Dante's and Byron's immagination, seems to have been ideated to offer tourists all kinds of hospitality a visitor could need.
